To be honest, I was nervous before my first class at The Knowledge Workshop. Coming from an accounting career, I was a bit hesitant towards this whole teaching thing. But from the start, Marian was amazing and made us feel at home. She brings so much experience, knowledge and fun to the class. The course was thorough, easy to follow, and very hands-on. It was an incredible experience, and I feel ready to teach confidently now. I was amazed at how much you can learn in such a short time. I would highly recommend The Knowledge Workshop to anyone wanting to do a TEFL course, they are true professionals, and are always willing to go the extra mile for their students.

My experience at The Knowledge Workshop was unexpected. I went with the intention of acquiring the skills that would enable me to fund an international expedition. Teaching English...? I can do that. I speak it all the time! Surprisingly, after a quick-paced 120 hours, I figured out, in fact, that I love teaching English. I know this because:- I actually enjoyed completing my homework assignments
- During practical training, after the exhausting days at Ikamvalethu High School, I felt alive and fulfilled in such a great and real way, and then
- To go on and realise that the best parts of my "international expeditions" are in all reality, the teaching parts!
I mean, the holiday beaching days were awesome, but after a gruelling day of lessons and conversation classes, dinner tasted sweeter and my heart was heavy with affection for my students. Furthermore I met some people during my time at TKW - friends - that I hope to maintain long-lasting relationships with. I am forever grateful to you, Marian, for re-awakening my love for the English language and teaching me how to be an effective teacher. Seriously!

My experience at The Knowledge Workshop has been a truly life changing one. Being older it was a challenge to go 'back to school' to do the TEFL training. I was delighted to find TKW! The environment is welcoming, relaxed and supportive. Marian's facilitation is superb. We worked intensely, but always learned in a fun-filled atmosphere. I am amazed at how quickly and well prepared we were for our practical teaching experience.

Dear Marian and Paul, I miss our tea breaks where we endlessly discussed travelling options and teaching dos and don’ts with fellow “TEFLers”. I miss those delicious biscuits...? The best part was getting to teach at Ikamvalethu. This course and the week spent teaching at Ikamvalethu instilled a confidence in me that has grown in South Korea. Thank you for sparking the desire to learn more, teach encouragingly and to facilitate a classroom where interaction and fun is key.
I will definitely be referring TKW to anyone in need of a TEFL course, an EFL/ESL course or just a new perspective career wise.

The TEFL course which Marian facilitates at The Knowledge Workshop prepared me very well for my teaching experience in West Africa. I wanted to teach in Africa and having done some work experience with TKW at a secondary school in Langa, Cape Town, I can honestly say I was very well prepared to teach here in Africa. The TEFL course is an intense, but extremely enjoyable learning experience as Marian's classes are filled with humour - in my book - exactly the way teaching should be conducted.
