We help students to find accommodation free of charge, with only rental fees payable to the host /proprietor.

There is a good selection of accommodation in our area and students can choose from the following options: staying with a host family; house share with other international or local students;stay in a self-catering/backpackers/B&B/or guest house; or for shorter stays, opt for one of the beautiful, local, boutique hotels.

Host Family/homestay: Staying with an English-speaking household while learning the language assists greatly with speeding up the language acquisition process. Homestay accommodation in our area ranges from a private room with shared facilities in a house or flat to fully equipped, self contained garden flats. Most hosts include breakfast and an evening meal in the monthly cost, with mealtimes being a time of valuable interaction for the learner. Prices vary between ZAR 4000 – 6000 per month and are determined by the owner.

Student house share: With the University of Cape Town just up the road, there is a large amount of student accommodation in our area. This is similar to a homestay in that you will more than likely have English speaking housemates, but without meals provided. Accommodation usually consists of a private room, with shared facilities, with prices from ZAR 2,500 to 4000 per month.

Short-term self-catering accommodation: Nearby Observatory, a magnet for independent travellers, and renowned for its nightlife, Observatory has a large range of budget priced, self-catering accommodation. From the well-equipped Green Elephant Backpackers to Riverview Lodge, all based near to the bustling Lower Main Road and it’s eclectic selection of nightspots and restaurants and shops. Most establishments will negotiate discounts for long stays.
